Location and staff. Although valet parking is expensive at $39 per day, it was a nice service. Took a while to get car on busy days but the staff work hard to satisfy clients.

First and foremost, the staff was the best part. But pretty much everything else was also wonderful. Made me wish I was staying in Ottawa more than one night.

The breakfast was subpar, fruits didn't look fresh so didn't try them. Was excited to try the waffle station but the batter was made too thin :(
Otherwise the room, cleanliness and location of the place was pretty good

On the south bank of the Ottawa River, the Canadian capital Ottawa is a grand symbol of what the country stands for: bilingualism, civic pride and wonderful vistas.
Facing Langevin Block (the prime minister’s office) is the city’s most famous landmark - the Centre Block parliament building. Its tall central tower and circular parliamentary library make a great photograph from Gatineau across the river, which is joined to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Rideau Canal by a series of locks. Skating on the frozen canal is a highlight of the huge Ottawa Winterlude festival.
The city’s history is detailed in Bytown Museum by the locks. Opposite is peaceful Major’s Hill Park, overlooked by Château Laurier, a historic hotel named after a former prime minister. Also named after him is Laurier House, his seat of office. Other important national buildings include the Royal Canadian Mint, Supreme Court, and Rideau Hall, the Queen’s official residence when in the country.
The business district and Ottawa Convention Centre are in Downtown, and nearby shopping options include Rideau Mall and ByWard Market - the oldest farmers’ market in Canada and the area with the best nightlife.
Ottawa accommodation on Booking.com includes luxury hotels with pools, B&Bs with parking and apartments near the train station, all easily accessible from MacDonald-Cartier Airport.
Love Ottawa but it can be very busy. Love the location of the Les Suites as everything is within walking distance. The capital buildings, the river, the market, the park and lots of eateries and shopping.

We made the mistake of going to Ottawa in April as many places were closed until May. We made the most of it and went to other museums and were so pleased. The Diefenbunker was incredible and I highly recommend that as a MUST visit! Beautiful days made for great walks- city is safe and clean. Exceptional restaurants. Will visit again- in the summer!

I loved Ottawa! Such a clean and friendly city.
I loved Ottawa! Such a clean and friendly city. It's a little quiet at times and in certain areas, but just make sure to look for the lively areas like Byward Market, Westboro/Hintonburg, and Bank Street. Transit is pretty good. Lots of great restaurants.

A city full of fascinating museums and government-related buildings, many of which you can tour.
Ottawa originally wasn't really on my destination list (a friend told me that stopping over for 1 day would be enough), but surprisingly I spent 3 days in the city and feel like I still had plenty left to see. You can tour buildings on Parliament Hill for free with advance reservation (eg: House of Commons, House of Lords, Supreme Court). There are also a lot of excellent museums like the Ingenium (science), Canadian Museum of History just across the river in Gatineau, National Gallery of Canada (art), and Royal Canadian Mint, just to name a few.
A great place to learn more about Canada, what it means to be Canadian, and gain a lot of cultural and sociological insights.

As I said earlier, my trip to Ottawa was expensive.
As I said earlier, my trip to Ottawa was expensive. Wanted to add in the ticket and then having to walk. I do have a severe back problem and I have a handicap sticker in my window and I still got $125 ticket.
We had a great stay! Location is good, right off the highway and close to a couple places for dinner/shopping, quick 20 min drive to downtown Ottawa. The facility was very clean, pool was great for the kids and we appreciated the open space for a couple parents getting together. The breakfast was great! Lots of options for everyone including make your own waffles which was a hit with the kids. Would 100% reccomend.
Location is perfect, on one of the livelier streets of Ottawa's downtown, walking distance to pretty much everywhere in the city. The spaciousness of the room as well as the in-room amenities somewhat exceeded by expectations: full kitchen, ironing board, even a full desktop setup with a printer. Hotel is clearly geared towards extended stays. For the price paid, this is definitely a good value.
I found the Alt Hotel very cool and stylish. The staff was welcoming and seemed to enjoy working there. When I requested a fridge and a kettle for my room, both were delivered almost immediately. Two of my friends in Ottawa came to meet me at the hotel and were impressed enough with the design of it that they, too, will recommend it to others.
- Parking was below the building and had access directly to hotel via elevator, however it was operated by third parties.
- Walking distance to downtown core and parliament hill
- Breakfast was good the bonus goes to the tea leaf they placed with empty tea back you could have a real tea not the fake one which is just color and flavor
Excellent location. The hotel and room were clean and the beds were comfortable! The staff were absolutely fantastic - very friendly and accommodating! I am from Canada originally and I’ve noticed things getting really expensive in Ottawa. This hotel was great value for money! I have already recommended the hotel to other friends!
The location was excellent! It was within easy walking distance of all the main attractions downtown, and restaurants as well. The room was very spacious and had everything we needed. Everything was clean, and their instructions for getting in and out of the hotel were easy to follow. I would definitely stay here again.
Great suite with lots of room. Perfect for a longer stay (we stayed 6 nights). Very well equipped; en suite laundry room was a real bonus. Located perfectly for all downtown Ottawa attractions. Able to make meals in the room and relax some nights.
The room was excellent, service was excellent.
When in Ottawa I prefer to stay at hotels with ample parking, and this hotel has plenty, One reason I'd rather not stay near the downtown.
All in all, the value is well worth the stay.
Location is fine if you have a car. I am familiar with the Ottawa region and I much preferred to stay in this area as it is quieter than downtown. With a car, it's only about 10 min to get anywhere.
Hotel is new and VERY clean. Room was way larger than most hotels and we actually loved spending time inside. It's only a 10 minute walk from downtown also. Underground parking which is nice.
It was so spacious and near Downtown which is just a train ride and 15min walk. So happy I booked it!! Overall, our stay was really great and enjoyed Canada Day with Hampton Inn!
The suite was very large (we received an upgrade at check-in). The location of the hotel is very central in Ottawa and within walking distance from downtown.
